Golf Swing Distance Vs Direction

The Posture is Adjusted to Match the Clubshaft

Golf swing distance Vs direction requiring only a simple adjustment with the posture as the club changes from short and steep to long and flat. This posture change will allow any golfer to easily move from one club to the next or from the two extremes of wedge to driver, this done without any concern on the part of the golfer to modify the swing so as to make the club work. Here’s how.

From Wedge to Driver the clubshaft progressively changes from very short and upright to longer and flatter. When short it will swing more straight back and through and when longer it will swing more around. As the shaft becomes shorter the posture will become more bent over with the torso or more lowered down from the knees and hips, done to ideally get the clubshaft at right angles to the spine at address. The longer shaft requires the opposite, a posture that is taller.

With posture more bent over the shoulders are on a steeper incline and they will not be turned as easily. This results in a swing that is both shorter and more upright. The opposite occurs when the posture is more erect, the swing becomes longer and flatter. Now the posture supports the demands of the clubshaft during the swing. The following is a picture of Seve Ballesteros swinging a wedge. Here we see the shorter more upright backswing, a swing where the club stays more on line.

Simply by matching the posture to the club any golfer can easily move through the bag from wedge to driver without consciously changing the golf swing.
