Simplifying the Golf Swing

Simplifying the Golf Swing is a Result of Bending to the Ball

Simplifying the golf swing is easily achieved from a correct posture and then allowing the arms to swing on the line of the shoulders. By bending backwards from the knees and forwards from the hips one can lower down to the ball putting the torso on an incline that places the clubshaft at a right angle to the spine at address. With this torso tilt the shoulders are put on a parallel incline with the clubshaft and since the arms can swing very nicely on the line of the shoulders it is now very easy to swing back to the ball.

With this the club will naturally go up in the backswing and then down in the downswing to the ball without any effort on the  part of the golfer, the arms have room to swing on the line of the shoulders, the motion becomes underhanded, the arms and the legs will coordinate, the elbows can stay down as the right arm folds in the backswing and the left arm in the through swing, the clubshaft can stay between the forearms and the upper body can stay on top of the lower body from start to finish.

Here we see young junior golfer Aadithya Gulyani developing the above principals by staying in the shot, between the boards.

Starting from perfect posture the focus here is on swinging the arms on the line of the shoulders and keeping the elbows down throughout while the chest stays facing forward. These pictures show the developing dynamics of swinging and not turning in the backswing.

With this the shoulders are pulled back to the finish of the backswing and the arms and legs easily coordinate as they move through the shot to complete the follow through.

This now becomes a very functional and powerful golf swing even at the age of 9 years old!
